From our founder developing Vitamin C rich Ribena during World War II, to our farmers providing habitats for our wonderful wildlife.
We're on a mission to make the world a happier place. It's true what they say. Life's a little brighter with a Ribena in hand.
Ribena founder, Dr Vernon Charley, was a leading scientist at the University of Bristol, and first produced the berry-licious blackcurrant syrup in 1938. Noticing that blackcurrants were naturally rich in Vitamin C, he gave out the juice for free to children and expectant mothers during World War II, when other sources of Vitamin C were scarce.
Dr Charley lived in the Forest of Dean for most of his life where our Coleford factory still stands today, open and busy making Ribena.
