WellChild is working across the UK to support families caring for children and young
people with serious long-term illness or complex care needs.
As the national charity for sick children, WellChild knows that help for those families
is needed more than ever, and the charity is committed to ensuring that all seriously
ill children and young people should have the very best possible quality of life.
WellChild's determination to make sure that, wherever possible, children are cared
for at home with their families is a major feature of its work.
To help prevent children spending months - and sometimes years - living in hospital,
the charity funds a team of WellChild Children's Nurses.
Those specialist nurses work in communities throughout the country so that children
can leave hospital as soon as possible and not go through the stress of frequent
re-admissions. The nurses also work alongside parents and carers to make sure they
have the skills to manage the needs of their children.
Helping WellChild to support families caring for seriously ill children is simple,
